Nestled at the mouth of Tampa Bay and
protected by Fort De Soto Park, Anna Maria Island and the Sunshine
Skyway Bridge, Egmont Key is unique in many ways. In addition to being a
Florida State Park, most of the island is also a National Wildlife
Refuge. This beautiful barrier island boasts an increasing number
of sea birds, sea turtles and tortoises roaming freely along the
island's many walking trails. The island is a National Historic Site and
saw military use in three conflicts. You may explore the ruins of Fort
Dade or the 140 year old lighthouse which continues to aid mariners into
Tampa Bay harbor.
Egmont Key has 4 different and very unique
views.
-
To the East Tampa Bay and the awe inspiring
Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
-
To the South the up market Anna Maria
Island.
-
To the West, endless miles of Gulf.
-
To the North is the main shipping channel
into Tampa where you will be treated by views of large ships and
passenger liners entering and leaving the Harbor, only a few hundred
yards from Egmont Beach.
Day 1 - Sail past beautiful tropical islands
before seeing the stunning skyline and white sand beaches of Clearwater
Beach. You'll sail past the majestic skyscrapers of Sand Key and
get a fish-eye-view of the Don Cesar. The trip takers approximately 8
hours of sailing.
Day 2 - Spent at leisure exploring
the island. Egmont key offers walking trails for our nature
lovers, the ruins of Ft. Dade and other military buildings for our
history buffs and miles of white sand beaches for our sun-seekers
wishing to attain that perfect shade of bronze. Egmont also has an
excellent snorkel area. Go for an afternoon sail underneath the Sunshine
Skyway Bridge.
Day 3 - Hey, just because we're headed home
doesn't mean the fun has to end. After breakfast and we hoist
anchor, do some trawling and try your luck at a Spanish mackerel,
grouper, cobia, snapper or other fine delicacies swimming below just
itchin' to be lured in*!

This package offers two different
anchorages and is the most flexible of our three day packages. The
program listed below is only an example of the alternatives, you can
elect to change or modify any of these elements, it's your cruise, your
decision.
Day 1 - Sail out into the Gulf and
swing north to our secret snorkel reef less than an hour away. Then go
sailing in the Gulf dropping anchor for lunch at Anclote island. Go
sailing for the afternoon, or spend the rest of the day lazing around
the beach. Your choice!
Day 2 - Spend a leisurely morning
at the island before departing for Clearwater Beach. Yes, we're going
south for about 4 hours, underneath the Clearwater Bridge to our next
anchorage, Compass Island. This tiny island is tucked away in Clearwater
Harbor, surrounded by crystal clear water and ... SKYSCRAPERS! Enjoy an
evening BBQ and go for a dinghy ride around the island or even to the
mainland nearby.
Day 3 - After breakfast, anchor is
raised and we return to the Gulf of Mexico, where we set sail for yet
another island called "South Anclote". This little island offers a great
view of Anclote Lighthouse, as well as wonderful shelling and swimming
opportunities.
Enjoy water sports, sail behind the
sailboat in a large tube, or just get towed through the water by the
sailboat.
Ask your captain to heave to at ANY stage if you want to dive
over board. The boat is truly yours for three days and you call the
shots!
