Summer
First thing in the morning, your
Florida sailing charter departs
from our dock in New Port Richey just north of Tampa. We motor the
sailboat up the channel past beautiful waterfront homes. Once out of the channel we hoist the sails, cut
the engine and head where the wind takes us.
We can sail to our favorite snorkel spot
where you can see coral, sponges and colorful fish, and perhaps even a
turtle.
Afterwards we'll sail toward peaceful Anclote Key
where we will anchor for lunch and you can enjoy a balmy swim, restful repose upon the white sand
beach, search for elusive Sand Dollars or do nothing at all. You can swim
ashore from the boat, or we'll run you to the beach in our dinghy**.
We will
depart and continue sailing at your leisure. You decide when to leave.
The cruise lasts 8 hours.
Winter
Despite Florida's mild winter climate, the
Gulf temperature drops into the lower 60's which is not conducive to
swimming so we offer a couple alternatives:
-
For the hard core sailors, all day
sailing, stopping only if need be for lunch.
-
Stop for lunch at the island, jump on our
dinghy** and ride to the beach where you can beach comb
and pick up shells.
-
Wetsuits are always an alternative if you want to
snorkel!
Chances are you will see dolphins any time of the year as they do not migrate and absolutely love
sailboats, generally making a bee-line straight for us to swim and frolic in
the bow. It helps that we pay them to make appearances! View our
gallery for more pictures of
previous charters. Your Florida sailing charter will leave you with the best
memories of sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. Add a
Beach BBQ for even MORE FUN in the sun!
