Burial at sea as a tradition has dated back thousands of years. Presently, family and loved ones have increasingly been choosing ash scattering for their own reasons.

Your captain and crew conduct a dignified, caring, memorial ash scattering service at sea, approximately 5 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, just north of Tampa. The services may be attended or unattended. A commemorative nautical certificate stating your loved one's name, date, and exact latitude and longitude of the ash scattering ceremony can be provided for just $10.

Windsong Sailing Charters guarantees you a professional, affordable memorial service and burial at sea for your loved one. You have several boats to choose from.

We also offer ash scattering services or burial at sea for pets.

Attended Ash Scatterings

Fulfilling Final Wishes - Ash Scattering Service at Sea

Our sailboat will depart Gulf Harbors in New Port Richey - just north of Tampa - and motor out into the Gulf of Mexico where the engine will be shut down and the sails hoisted. We will sail gently out into the ocean.

You may bring your own CDs and the music of your choice will be played.

We will then sail back to port, with the entire proceedings lasting approximately three hours.

You may choose the time of day: morning, afternoon or evening sunset. A maximum of 6 people only may attend the burial at sea.

Unattended Ash Scatterings

If you or your family are unable to attend, our captain and crew will respectfully conduct the ash scattering memorial service on your behalf.

You can be provided with digital photos of the ceremony or if you wish to "attend" the ash scattering service via cell-phone or have the ceremony video taped, this may be arranged for a small additional fee.

$275 Pontoon Power Boat

$295 Jeanneau 34 Sailboat

Duration: Approximately 3 hours

Prices are for the whole boat. Groups may be up to 6 people. Includes Captain, but excludes gratuity.

Reservations require a 30% deposit to secure your date.

PONTOON BOAT SELF DRIVE OPTION

You can also rent a pontoon boat from us and drive it yourself. This is an affordable option and particularly useful if your party is larger than 6 people. We have rental pontoon boats that can accommodate up to 15 people. Rates start at just $125 for our smallest boat and go up to $200 for the largest boat.

Captains may be hired for additional fees.
